Popular fish treatments tried and tested with dedicated information for your koi and sturgeon.

Acriflavin fish treatment

Acriflavin is used as a general anti-bacterial treatment, also useful for the treatment of external fungal infections. Acriflavine is also reported to help in the reduction of minor
viral infections. It can be used safely with marine fish. Acriflavine can be also be used as a bath treatment for severe conditions.
Dosage: 10mls to 100 gallons. Always check the manufacturers lables For use above 11 C (55 F).

Available in multiple size bottles and retail prices vary accordingly.

Safe to use with sturgeon, Orfe and Rudd.

Acriflavin 7 fish treatment

Acriflavin 7 is a pond anti-septic active against persistent bacterial ailments. Treats conditions caused by bacteria such as Fin and Tail Rot and Ulcers in all pond fish. Recommended dosage:- A course of treatment over 7 applications. Use when fish have ulcers, fin or tail-rot.
10ml treats 700 litres
2.5 litres treats 7 x 25,000 litres

Add one dose every week for 7 weeks. Switch off UV until 5 days after the final dose has been added.

Safe to use with Sturgeon.

Chloramine T fish treatment

Chloramine T is a powdered treatment that requires a delcate measuring procedure. This medication covers a broad spectrum of ilnesses. At higher dose rates it can be used against skin/gill flukes, white spot, Costia, and bacterial gill diseases. Commonly used as a pond-wide treatment.

Typical Dosages 5gms per 1000 gallons as an anti-bacterial or
15-20gms per 1000 gallons as an anti parasite treatment (4 doses required).

Chloramine T can be used as a bath treatment.
For use above 11.5 C (55 F ).

If to be used you should turn any ultraviolet units off and treat once per week. Chloromine T can be used with sturgeon.

Fluke M treatment

Fluke M is a Flubendazole based medication to eradicate gill flukes and body flukes. This medication can be used at any temperature. A 65g packet treats 5500 gallons as a one-off treatment. For use with all cold water ornamental fish. This medication has a three year shelf life and should be used within three months of opening. This product can also be used for the eradication of pond snails and intestinal helminths. This is currently the only legally obtainable form of 5% Flubendazole, for use in Aquatic systems. This Veterinary Medicine is marketed in accordance with the Small Animal Exemption Scheme. Authorised by the Veterinary Medicines Directorate (VMD).

Flukasol fluke treatment

Koi Care Flukasol Suspension, an easy to use liquid formula Flubendazole. Anti-Fluke treatment ideal for use when treating Skin and Gill Flukes. Use Koi Care Flukasol Suspension when fish show signs of fluke infestation, preferably after confirmation by microscopy.
500ml Treats 18,200 litres (4,000 Gallons).

Potassium Permanganate fish treatment

Potassium Permanganate is a good disinfectant for ponds and nets. Excellent for the eradication of Trichodina Costia, and other parasites. It will discolour water for up to 7 days, and can be used down to 10 C. At higher temperatures it can remove some oxygen from water, so it is advisable to keep an airstone running within the treatment/quarantine tank.

Dosage 6.8gms per 1000 gallons. this product is not recommend as a bath treatment.
